52. John P. SALLEE Jr. ⁽⁴⁰⁾ was born on Nov 23 1808 in KY.⁽³⁵⁷⁾ He died on Aug 26 1889.⁽³⁵⁸⁾⁽³⁵⁹⁾ He was buried in Cornishville Christian Church Cemetery, Cornishville KY. -He was keeper of the "Poor House" on the 1870 census.
-In Deed Bk. 20, pg. 425, Mercer Co., KY, Oct. 4, 1837 - John Sallee, Jr. bought 32 acres of land on west side of Chaplin Fork of Salt River, for $192.00. bounded by Trace Creek.
-There are several transactions all on Trace Creek. In 1858 they sell land on Hayden's Creek. In 1860, the Sallee family lived near Cornishville and owned Sallee's Mill, the family's real estate being valued at $14,000 and personal property at $3,400. John's occupation was listed in the 1860 Federal census as farmer and keeper of the Poor House. He was married to Mary Elizabeth PEAVLER on Jul 10 1828 in Mercer Co. KY.⁽³⁶⁰⁾ ⁽³⁶¹⁾⁽³⁶²⁾

53. Mary Elizabeth PEAVLER was born in 1810.⁽³⁶³⁾ She died in 1838 in Mercer Co. KY. Children were:

26 i. John Peavler "J.P." SALLEE.
ii. Nathan SALLEE was born in 1832.⁽³⁶⁴⁾
iii. Jordan (Peter?) SALLEE⁽⁴⁰⁾ was born on Oct 4 1834 in Cornishville KY.⁽³⁶⁵⁾ He died on Oct 24 1907 in Casey Co. KY.⁽³⁶⁶⁾ -Died of smallpox.
. He served in the military Civil War in U.S. Cavalry, Civil War. Check Jordan's Civil War record in Jack Bailey's "Descendants of Abraham Sallé" (accidentally deleted). He was buried in Corn Cemetery, Casey Co. KY. -May be spelled "Jourdan" and "Jorden."

iv. James L. SALLEE was born on May 30 1838 in Mercer Co. KY.⁽³⁶⁷⁾ He died on Mar 26 1918 in Owensboro KY. -1860, 1870, 1nd 1880 census of Mercer Co. KY.
-1900 census of Daviess Co. KY in household of Luther Edmonson.
