Notes for E
RNST ADOLF TUCHLINSKI:
Notes from the Berlin Town Council Minutes, of 1897:
a petition was presented to Council by Mr. Tuchlinski to have the Gas plant moved or purchase his property. Reference made to a petition signed by 250 people re location of the Gas Works.

From the Berlin News Record, February 10, 1897:
The remarks in yesterday's issue concerning Mr. Tuchlinski's desire to have the town either have the Gas plant removed or purchase his property, has led him to ask us to say that a petition signed by 250 persons was sent in to the Council before the works were constructed, praying that they not be erected in their present locality, but that the Company then held that the opposition was ill-timed, since there was little likelihood of an offensive odor issuing therefrom, or danger of explosions, and that the residents in the immediate vicinity always had recourse for redress to the Council should occasion for objection arise. Further, he wished it understood it was not anxiety to sell his property that led him to take the steps he had done, but a wish to have the alleged nuisance abated, or, failing in this, to quit the locality.

From the Berlin News Record, January 17, 1913
ADOLF TUCHLINSKY
