PLANE AND CANOE BRING SON HOME FOR SUNDAY VISIT
Extremes in transportation highlighted the Sunday visit of Henry Wells, Jr., with his parents, Dr. and Mrs. H. E. Wells.
The son's visit was one of the first at the Wells home since they returned last week from wintering in Del Ray Beach, Fla. They were away when their son set his twin-motored Amphibian Widgeon plane down in the Wells front yard on the bay off the Manor shore. The Wells home, "Blue Waters," is the reconstructed boat house on the former Henry Porter estate.
Henry remained in the plane until Dr. Wells returned to the house and put out from shore in a canoe to bring him in.
Henry Wells, Jr., is safety director for Dealers Transport Company, Chicago. Part of his work includes flying the company plane,. He plans to make numerous flights to Lake Geneva this summer. He will moor the plane at a buoy just beyond the Wells' pier.
