Edith Helen Beadle, her brother Oscar, and sister Ella were born with Congenital Cataracts, which 50 years ago would have meant permanent blindness. Despite this handicap, Edith, never let this keep her from being the person she wanted to be.
Edith never had much as a child. She wanted to make sure her children had all the things that she never had. I remember she always told us to never to wish for what we could never have , but to enjoy what we did have.
She was very active in the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and was the drill master of the Drill Team for many years, and also helped put on many plays for the lodge. Edith was a leader in the Campfire girls organization. In later years she was active in the El Centro Women Club, and Wives in Farming.
Edith also belonged to the Imperial Valley Gem and Mineral Society, and until her death was a very active member, she especially likes working the gem society fair booth.
Edith was a good and loving mother.
