A second child died about the age of 3 years. This child was born 11/2/1862. Mary Jane and Robert Lewis married December 1, 1864 and sometime in 1865 the child died. This left only Lavonia and Willie.

A letter from dad's aunt Addie, dated 12/10/1952, Pulaski, TN states, "Mother was a young widow with 3 small children, when father & her married. Willie the baby, Janie, and Lavonia. Janie, the oldest died a few months after they moved to Tennessee from Tuscaloosa Ala-". "I am unable to make out the next line, it reads, "Levonia, sister, as ... say still living." "Willie, Mrs. Worley, died several years ago at Foreston, Texas." "We didn't know the difference between our own sisters and our half sisters. We were not taught there were any difference." She then included a list of the 6 Culps children with birth dates, dates of marriage and deaths of her parents. It was signed "Love to all, Addie"

Julia (Culps) Smith sent us information regarding the McClinton Children; Amanda J. b.11/5/1857; Lavonia E. b.4/30/1860; Mary J. b. 11/2/1862. Unfortunately, Addie did not send birth dates on the McClinton children. Addie refers to Janie as being the oldest and Willie the youngest.

My father says he remembers that one of the children died in child birth, so he reasons that there were 4 children.

My father lived close enough to 'aunt' Lavonia and 'aunt' Willie to visit with them. After getting the information from Julia about this family, with the information he had from the aunts, he concluded the above information. Parents: BOYD and Martha HENRY.

She was married to Robert Lewis CULPS on DEC 1 1864 in Alabama. Children were: Robert O. CULPS, George Darr CULPS, Sara Anna CULPS, Beula Viola CULPS, Lewis Robert CULPS, Martha Adelaide (Addie) CULPS .
