Hi there, my name is Joyce K. Curry and my husband is David A. McDougald. My parents are John Curry and Nancy Anne Poole Curry. David's parents are Joe Dan McDougald and Betty Nelson McDougald. We all live in Houston, Texas. David and I are both 6th generation Texans. I really love geneology and David really doesn't. But that is OK because his mother really likes geneology. Betty and I have lots of information we would like to share with others who are researching the same families we are. Betty and I are searching the following names (this is only a partial list; check back often to see changes and additions): Samuel G. Wells, b. July 26, 1811, KY. Fought in the Black Hawk War. Probably from Edgar Co., IL. Married Phebe Parker, daughter of Daniel Parker and Martha "Patsy" Dixon, in 1834. Moved to Texas sometime in 1834. Lived in Limestone, Anderson, and Freestone Cos., TX. Was a veteran of Republic of Texas and the Mexican-Amercian War. Duncan Perry Graham, unknown birthplace, possibly MS. Moved to Texas by 1850. Married (1) Sarah Wells, daughter of Samuel G. Wells and Phebe Parker; (2) Melissa Brinkley. Was a veteran of the Confederate Army. Astoynax T. Hector, born VA abt 1823. Moved to Guadalupe Co., TX with his sister, Mary Elizabeth Hector and her husband, French Smith. Married (1) Sarah Jane Hocker; (2) Susan N. Hocker. Moved to Hays Co.,TX by 1860. James Hector, born Scotland. Possible father of A.T. Hector. Any information on Smedleys and Barefoots is always appreciated. In addition, I have information on the following families that I would be happy to share. (Again, only a partial list.) Joyce Curry's family: Joseph Richardson and his descendants. He came to England in 1730 and settled in VA. IN 1736, he married Miss Sarah Morris of Hanover, VA. The McClanahan Family that progressed from VA>KY>TX.
