818. Francois GARNIER dit Grenier dit Pellerin @ was born on 26 Feb 1638 in N.-D.-de-Vair, Mamers, Le Mans, Maine, France. He was baptised on 26 Feb 1638 in St-Cosme-de-Vair, Perche, France. He died on 21 Jan 1719 in Neuville, Portneuf, P.Quebec. He was buried on 21 Jan 1719 in Neuville, Portneuf, P.Quebec. <From "Our French Canadian-Ancestors" by Thomas J. Laforest. vol.4 pg.106-115>

Francois most likely arrived in New France around the end of the 1650's. On 12 December 1662, notary Guillaume Audouart of Saint-Germain drew up the clauses of Francois's marriage contract with Jacqueline Freslon. The nuptial ceremony took place a few weeks later in the parish church of Quebec on 9 January 1663.

The Garniers dit Pellerin initially settled down at Sillery where their first 5 children were baptized. After 1670 the family lived at Pointe-aux-Trembles in Quebec. It was there that the 40 year old ancestor lived out the rest of his days. The records of notaries Pierre Duquet and Romain Becquet described some of Francois's transactions with a few of his contemporaries.

The Garnier family was listed in 2 of the 3 large general census in New France in the 17th century, 1666 and 1681. In 1666 Francois and his family seemed to have settled on the Saint-Michel coast in the seigneurie of Sillery, between the properties of Jean Migneron and Michel Legardeur dit Sanssoucy. A 25 year-old servant named Pierre lived with the Garniers. In 1681 they lived in the seigneurie of Dombour-Neuville, more precisely at Pointe-aux-Trembles. The head of the family was said to be 45 years old nad his wife 44. At that time Charles (sic) owned 2 guns, 7 head of cattle and had 15 arpents under cultivation.

The Garniers lived uneventfully until a relatively advanced age, occupying themselves in enlarging and improving the value of their land, as well as raising their children. He was married to Jacqueline FRESLON @ on 9 Jan 1663 in N.-D.-de-Quebec, Quebec, P.Quebec.

819. Jacqueline FRESLON @ was born in 1638. She died on 17 Apr 1712 in Neuville, Quebec, P.Quebec, Canada. Children were:
