John Moore, may have been th John Moore of Captain Andrew Ferley's Company, and from Orphan Court records appears to have been a soldier of the War of 1812, dying while in that service, as his widow, Mary Moore, asked for guardins for two minor daughters, Betsy and Mary Moore, noting that her husband was killed in the late war. That was in 1816, and in 1820, George Hoge gave a receipt in the Estate of Thomas Moore, showing he was inter-married with Sarah Moore, a granddaughter of Thomas Moore through his son, John. John Moore is also shown to have left sons Daniel and Thomas Moore.

Notes for THOMAS MOORE , JR.:

Per Winifred Stire Moore's Family Notes-
After they were married. Thomas and Catherine. For several years Thomas and Catherine Moore lived in Fulton County, near the town of Wauseon, Ohio. Here their seven children were born. Thomas Moore had dreams of a brighter future, if only he had more land. So he took his family and moved to Hebron, Nebraska where they settled down to homestead 160 acres of land. Later he bought 160 acres of more land. He now owned 320 acres of land, enough to raise plenty of stock and crops so he could provide a good living for himself and his family. One of their children was
Daniel Orin Moore father of Fred B. Moore
I remember hearing Grandpa Moore tell about a pair of mules they used to do their plowing. I remember also his telling about one time he was visiting a neighbor. They were standing beside the road talking when a man rode up and started talking to them. After he left the neighbor asked Grandpa if he knew who the rider was. Grandpa said he did not know the man but he noticed he was soft spoken and he could see he took good card of his horse. Grandpa was much suprised to learn the man was Frank James, brother of Jesse James. Both men were well known and famous for robbing trains.
Grandpa Daniel Moore was very close to his Mother and promised her he would stay home as long as she lived. Thomas Moore believed it was his duty to fight for his country, so he enlisted in the army and marched away to become a soldier in the Civil War. While he was away his wife and children took care of the farm.
All the other children were married when Grandpa Moore's Mother Catherine Kimmel Moore died on Dec. 21, 1884. She is buried in Alexandria, Nebraska.
So Daniel Moore and his father Thomas Moore came to Scio, Ohio, leaving Brother Frank to sell the farm. Frank had been married for four years to Eliza Moles. Frank sold the farm and moved to Ancortes Washington. The Brothers wrote to each other for a while, then they stopped writing. Daniel Moore married Florence McAfee Kimmel on Nov. 8, 1896. Thomas Moore lived with his son on a farm till he died Jan 13, 1897. He is buried in the New Rumley Cemetery and New Rumley, Ohio. The Family sold the farm and moved into town.

vii.   AARON MOORE, b. 01 April 1827, ?- LDS source- , Green County, Pennsylvania; d. 13 August 1913, buried in Grandview Cementry, Sico, Ohio.

  Notes for AARON MOORE:

Per Winifred Stire Moore's Family note Book-
After Thomas Moore's wife died he and his son Daniel came to Scio, Ohio to live with his brother and sister Aaron Moore and Ann. Uncle Aaron was an educated man. He had attended Harlem Springs College and wrote for "Poor Richard’s Almanac" under the name of "Nick L. Penny". He was well educated in mathematics and astronomy. He told Professors at college the exact date and time they could see Haley’s Comet in the sky. Haley’s Comet only appears every 75 years and Uncle Aaron was lucky enough to see it twice. Uncle Aaron Moore was a private tutor to many students who came to him for help in their studies. Also many of the Professors from the college of Scio often came to him for help in solving their school problems. For a while Uncle Aaron worked as Station Agent for the Pennsylvania Railroad in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. However he did not work in Pittsburgh very long because the Company told him he would have to wear shoes. Even if he was and educated man Uncle Aaron enjoyed going without shoes. So the Railroad Company transferred him back to Scio, Ohio where he worked at the pump station, pumping water for the train engines.
He is buried in Grandview Cemetery in Scio, Ohio.
