I HAVE ONLY JUST BEGUN: I started searching my g.grandparents William N. Emerson and Flora Geneva Wilson, I'll start with her, She was Born: Flora Geneva Wilson (maybe Willson)Jan 30, 1873 in Garland,Pa-Warren County (her brother: John Wilson, middle initial C or J was born in Garland 1880)The 1900 census states Oct 1881,UPDATE: His b/c say 1880 There parents James Wilson, Born 12/1850 in Pittsfield/Garland, Pa. He married Anna Abbott (maybe one t)about 1872,(more about her later)I think He is the son of Sarah McGuire and John Wilson. Sarah McGuire is the Daughter of Hugh McGuire,#2, who served in the War of 1812 and Jane Hare, Hugh is the son of Hugh McGuire #1 and Patience Lyon, Jane is probably the daughter of William Hare,Both Hugh #1 and William Hare served in the Revoluntionary War. The Hugh's sometime's confuse alot of people: Example: Hugh #1 had a son named Samuel, who had a son named Hugh #3, Hugh #2, brother of Sam, son of Hugh #1 also had a son Hugh Irvine #3. a few other brothers and sisters of Hugh and Sam also named their children Hugh, and as you know middle initial's are hard to come by.Alot of people think Samuel is the 1st Generation, Head of the Family so to speak, .NOTE: #1=1st Generation, #2= 2nd generation and #3 3rd Generation.
Back to Anna Abbot, mother of Flora Geneva and John C. or J., her parents are Michael and Margret (GREGG)Abbott both born in Ireland, proving this will be hard as: 1.) her (Anna) age was never correct on the census, 2.) her birthplace is listed on one census as Va, another as Md and yet another as PA. I feel pretty sure though that James Wilson and this Anna Abbot are the parents of my great grandmother, Flora...and her brother John Michael and Margret Abbot had the following children: Anna, John, Michael, Jr. Jane and Ella (who married a Storer) I found someone who remembers AUNT ELLA Storer living in Tidioute. At least I have made this connection, I have the right ones. SPECIAL NOTE: On the 1870 they were listed right next to each other. I am assuming this means something. This is the way it looks to be on Flora's side I have her Death Certificate, which states, Parents: James Wilson and Anna Abbot, the 1880 census is listed with Flora as a 7 y.o. child, John was not there yet. He can be found on the 1900 and 1910 census still living with his parents, He is listed by himself in the 1920 census. I assume, that James and Anna died somewhere between 1910 and 1920. NOTE:James is still listed in the Warren Directory in 1916 as a Laborer in Garland/Pittsfield. I will be sending for a 10 year search on James at the Vital Records Bureau in New Castle. hoping to prove that he is the son of Sarah and John Wilson. The search at the Warren County Historical Society, only shows that Sarah McGuire, married John Willson and they had a son James born 1850.. If i can connect, with proof, this means: That any female that is a direct decendent is eligible to become a member of DAR, The Daughters of the American Revolution, this is quite an honour. ALSO SEARCHING MY G. GRANDFATHER'S PARENTS, JAMES D.(Dewitt CLINTON)EMERSON WHO MARRIED A MARY ANN BLITZ IN CLARION CO cAN'T FIND MUCH ON these TWO. MARY ANN'S DEATH CERTIFICATE SAYS SHE WAS BORN IN CLARION COUNTY, AUGUST 1851. I KNOW THAT MY GREAT GRANDFATHER WILLIAM NATHANIEL WAS BORN IN SLIGO 02/1871, HIS BROTHER JAMES FRANK, BORN IN 09/1873 AND ARTHUR EUGENE BORN 1875 IN KNOX<CLARION COUNTY, THEN THEY MOVED ON TO WARREN COUNTY, WHERE THEY HAD A DAUGHTER IN CHERRY GROVE IN 1877 AND A DAUGHTER IN CLARENDON IN 1881, A SON IN COBHAM IN 1890 BEFORE FINALLY SETTLING IN TIDIOUTE, WHERE THEY LIVED AND DIED. NOT SURE WHERE MARY ANN IS BURIED THOUGH............... UPDATE: She is Buried in the Tidioute Cemetery, unmarked I'm sure HER PARENTS ARE LISTED AS DAVID BLITZ AND ELIZABETH FERN ON HER DEATH CERTIFICATE.............................................. I think someone might have been guessing,UPDATE: I found
