Joseph Darius Persons is my great grandfather.He was born in 1838, Guernsey County, OH. He was married twice. His first wife was Sarah Jane Arnold. His second wife was Mary Kathryn Vermillion. Both marrieages were in Guernsey County, OH. He and his two wives had 16 children.
At this time I have Joseph's death certificate from Belmont County, OH. The information on the certificate was provided by my grandfather, Charles Harry Persons, born 1895, to Joseph and Mary. Unfortunately, Joseph's parents were listed as "unknown." And there place of birth was listed as unknown. Joseph was living with his "uncle" and "aunt," George and Anna Alfred in the 1850 Guernsey County Census.
I have searched for several years (about twenty) and have not discovered who Joseph's parents were. But I have met numerous cousins along the way.
