I married a MARSHALL, Yvonne, and her father, William Cochrane MARSHALL, was the start point of my family history project. I got the bug in 1996, the genealogy and family history bug that is. That is when I started my ancestral hunt into the MARSHALL and WILSON families. They are the family names of my wife’s parents. I picked my wife’s family because she is a Scot, as are both her parents, and I live in Scotland. I therefore assumed their ancestors would also be of Scottish origin. So far, this assumption has proved correct, and most of the information I have gathered is from local sources in and around Fife area of Scotland.
