Notes for Anna Moritz aka St. Sylvester:
Anna, St. Sylvester was a nun at the Convent in Concordia, KS. She was very tall and stern looking.
Her sister Tillie was also a nun at the convent. They were very different in stature and personality.
St. Borgia was short and jovial. St. Sylvester attained her 48th yr. in the order.
After she graduated from high school, she taught in the high school in Ravenna, NE. She took her final vows at the age of 27.
One time when St. Sylvester and her companions were traveling by train, she discovered that she didn't have enough money for their fare. She was short $4.50. In those days in KS., passengers paid the conductor. He told them they would have to get off at the next station if they could not pay. She decided she would appeal to the other passengers for help. She went to the front of the car and, facing the travelers, asked if anyone would give her the money which she would return as soon as she got to their destination. Some generous person did respond and they were able to continue their journey.

There is a difference in the records that are shown in the Carol Haas records and those of this family.
Their family is of Adelaid's Mothers' side. They have great references for facts about her side of the family that have aided me greatly in my search. Adelaide could indeed be Anna as the dates are the same. They have documented sources, so I am inclined to lean that direction.[Dianna's Family Tree.FBC.FTW]
