SIXTH GENERATION
42. James Ross Kendall
was born on Jul 12 1831 in Tioga County, New York. He died on Sep 5 1888
in Webster Parish, Louisiana. He was buried in Buried in Fellowship Cemetery.
He has reference number AUD21732. Kendall is a village located in Westmoreland
which is in the northwest corner of England. The Kendalls were landed. Some also
were titled. There was a Kendall castle not in ruins. My Mother had a picture
of herself sitting among the ruins. She was a Kendall. One story is that Catherine
Parr, sixth wife of Henry VIII was a Kendall. Her father was Thomas Kendall.
I have found Kendalls in the World Family Tree CD's. The Kendalls probably lost
their land in the Civil War. The people in the north were largely loyal to the
King and many paid a big price.

I have been looking for information on Frame family in Louisiana. My wife's great-grandmother
was Laura Elizabeth Frame, lived in Winn Parish, Louisiana, born abt. 1890. She
had an aunt, also named Laura, who lived in Winn Parish after civil war. The
aunt was married to one of the members of Kimbrell-West gang. She had a couple
of brothers or possibly uncles who were members of the gang also. If anyone has
any more knowledge of them, please e-mail FJones3637@@aol.com.

Capt George W (Capt Billy) Frame who ran a ship out of La after 1854. He died
at sea and was buried at sea. His wife and children were on board and one son
was so sick that the crew tried to get the Mother known as "Aunt Sis"
to throw Him overboard, but She refused and brought the ship back to port. I

1 daughter, Mattie Frame who came to Madison Co Al by 1877.

vi.
Clara Gertrude Kendall was born on Oct 23 1881. She has reference number
AUD19508. So few people in Louisiana prior to the
Civil War were born in the north, that I have been intrigued that James R.
was born in New York, according to the census. But seeing that this person
has Almon as born in Massachusetts, it seems to fit. Did they have anything
on Elizabeth's birth place? I have it as Louisiana? She was living with my
great grandparents Ed Wart and Clara Kendall Wart in Webster Parish in 1900,
which is how I found her and then subsequently found James.
I thought I would take a minute to tell
you what I know about Clara Gertrude Kendall. She was born in Dubberly,
Louisiana, October 18, 1881. She married Jesse Edward "Ed" Wart September
25, 1898 in Dubberly. My grandfather Jesse Edward Wart, Jr. was born August
7, 1899. In the 1900 census, Clara's mother Elizabeth was living with Ed and
Clara and baby Jesse in Webster Parish. Clara and Ed had their second child
Clarence Cortez, called Cortez, November 7, 1901. Several years later, no
more than about 10, Clara and Ed divorced and she moved to San Antonio, TX
where she married John M. Anz. Clara and John, had a child named John Lee,
who reputedly was a baseball player. Jesse and Cortez would occasionally
take the train to San Antonio to see their mother. Apparently, once, they
had to turn back because it was rumored that Pancho Villa was in the
vicinity. Clara died at the age of 48. The funeral was in their home at
1120 Lamar Street in San Antonio. She was survived by her three children,
husband John and a sister Mrs. M.C. Spann. ( I don't know which sister this
was.)
Clara's sister Litha (or Talitha as you relayed to me) lived in Shreveport,
LA until her death sometime after 1969, which I know because I was born in
1969, and we have a picture of her holding me as a baby. She had a son
named Roy Parham and a daughter whose name I do not know. Roy, I believe
died from alcoholism, sometime in the 1970's.
