Mrs. Arminda Ogden
Mrs. Arminda, wife of Mr. Daniel Ogden, one of the oldest residents of the town of Wallkill, living near Monhagen reservoir, about two miles from this village, died last night of pneumonia after an illness of only five days. She was unconscious almost from the beginning of her illness, and although she rallied slightly on Sunday, did not regain her senses at all. Until this sickness she had been in the enjoyment of good health, and was active in the performance of her usual duties.
Mrs. Ogden was the daughter of the late Timothy Tryon, who lived near 8 1/2 station, and was Collector of the town of Wallkill for a score of years. The late Leonard Tryon, of this village, and Mr. Sanford Tryon, of South Centreville, are brothers of the deceased. She was married to Mr. Ogden fifty-two years ago, and over fifty years of their married life were spent on the farm where she died. For a short time after their marriage they lived at South Centreville, which was then known as Centreville. For over forty years Mrs. Ogden was an active and devoted member of the First Congregational Church of this village, in which her husband has also been a deacon for the same length of time.
There were four children born to them, three of whom, two daughters and a son, died after reaching maturity. The only survivor is Mr. George T. Ogden, with whom the old people made their home.
The funeral will be held at the house on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Parents: Timothy Tyron and ?.
