Montgomery, Jan. 12--John Carvey Crands died at his home, near here, on Friday, forenoon, after a lingering illness of several weeks duration, of Bright's disease.
Mr. Crans was about 60 years of age. For many years he had followed farming with success. He was a member of the Brick Church.
A number of years ago he was married to Miss Anna Sands, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Sands, who died a good while since. He is survived by his wife and the following children; Frederick Crans, of near Middletown; Laura, wife of Peter Richardson, of near Searsville; Lena, wife of Benjamin Shaw, of near Circleville; Miss Bertha and Miss Anna at home. Interment in the Brick Church Cemetery.

Loyal Ogden Cross of Middletown Park Manor, Middletown, a linotype operator for Cornwall Press, died Saturday, Jan. 25, at Horton Memorial Hospital, Middletown. He was 88.
The son of the late Daniel VanKeuren and Nellia A. Ogden Cross, he was born Aug. 10, 1903, in Middletown. He was formerly employed as a linotype operator for Middletown Times and The Times Herald-Record; he was a member and former trustee of Typographical Union Local 463, Middletown; a former trustee of Scotchtown Presbyterian Church; a founder and historian of Cross Family Association; and a member of Gunther Hunting Club, Forestburgh.
Survivors include his wife, Gertrude R. Lockwood Cross, at home; three daughters, Nancy L. Hughes and Linda M. Witherel, both of Circleville, and Rona L. Kennedy-Specht of Middletown; and six grandchildren.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Cornelius, Dodd and Connell Funeral Home, 26 Grove St., Middletown.
Services will be held at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Ronald Leigh will officiate.
