[The New York Genealogical and Biographical Record, Volume 105, 1974, page 147].
The last recorded date that Casperus Kimber appears in First Reformed Dutch Church records is Sunday, Aug. 27, 1732 when Kas Kimbel and Leena Willemse were godparents to Johnnes baptism, child of Matys van felse and Marytie van velse. Casparis Cimber was included among a list of Minsink Taxpayers in 1739. A bill of sale signed by Casper Kimber, weaver, of Goshen, Orange Co. NY to Samuel Clowes of Queens Co. dated 1748 was written about in a newspaper article published by the Wantage Recorder. At that time, the bill of sale was in the possession of Mrs. Minnie Topping, a Kimber descendant. "This indenture made the first day of (this figure or figures are faded) in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty-eight, between Casper Kimber of Wirkesworth near Goshen in Orange County, in the colony of New York, Weaver, of the one part aid Samuel Clowes, of Jamaica in Queens County, on Long Island, Gent, of the second part, witnesseth that the said Casper Kimber for and in consideration of the sum of 55 pounds lawful money of New York to him paid at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is duly acknowledged to be paid by the said Samuel Clowes wherewith the said Casper Kimber doth declare himself to be fully paid and satisfied, Hath bargained and sold and the said Casper Kimber doth bargain and sell unto him the said Samuel Clowes all and every of the horses, cattle, and other goods now in the possession of the said Casper Kimber he conveys to said Cloves, to witt: "One rhone mare, one black stalyon three-years-old with a blaze in his face and down his nose; one yearling horse colt, black with a blaze in his face and branded C. To it written a clear bold hand is the signature "Casparus Kimber". "Sealed and delivered and quiet possession given by the delivery of the said above mentioned pewter spoon part of the properties answering to the purport of this present writing in the presence of John Sackett, Jr., George Kimber". [Wantage Recorder June 20, 1924 Issue 'Where Was Wirkesworth?'] Jesper Cimber's house was mentioned in a record from the 'Old Minisink Precint' when commissioners from Minisink were 'clearing and laying out a highway'. On August 5, 1750, Casperus Kimbel and Lena Kimbel were witnesses to the baptism of Joris Kimbel and Sara Westfael's child, Petrus per Minisink Valley Reformed Dutch Church Records, 1716-1730, page 120. This was probably Joris and Sara's first child. Richard Gardner surveyed land at the Wallkill (river) and its branches on March 8, 1753. He surveyed 58 acres for George Kimbal which joined Isaac Cooly's land on the south east side. Gardner also surveyed 64 acres of land on Rutgars Kill joining Isaac Cooly's land. [Abstracts of Richard Gardner's Journal were copied from Frances Sodrick's copy, Pine Island, NY Town Historian] William J. Coulter's genealogical notes include the following items for George Kimber: "The writer has always wondered how many of the settlers along the New York-New Jersey line in the Town of Minisink, obtained title to their property, we could never find any deed on file at Goshen. The solution is as follows; Deeds given by James and Mary Alexander of New Jersey which were confirmed by the laws of 1771 of the State of New York after the partition line was fixed. Deeds given in 1762 to Elijah Inman 199 acres, Hannah Forgeson 123 acres, George Kimber 151 acres, Hezekiah Loree 97 acres, Inman Walling 56 acres, Benjamin Van Fleet 104 acres, Bryan Hammell 135 acres (his wife a Van Auken the same as Mrs. Dan Myers and Mrs. James Clark), James Clark (of Unionville) 104 acres, Jacobus Rosencrans 173 acres, Johannes Westbrook 100 acres, John Davis 152 acres, Jacob Middagh 213 acres, Josiah Cole 100 acres, Andrew Johnson sold George Kimber 50 acres in 1759 south of the Division line-your editor has this original deed. 87 acres sold by Benj. Thompson to Johannes Westbrook in 1762. James Alexander, William Burnett and James Parker sell to Richard Gardner, 178 acres in 1753." In his newspaper column published in the Wantage Recorder published in Sussex, NJ, William T. Coulter writes about George Kimber in his article titled "The James Clark Family of Unionville, N.Y.". Mr. Coulter had 2 deeds both dated August 1759, one signed by Andrew Johnston of Perth Amboy, NJ and the other by Thomas Bartow, the Surveyor General of New Jersey, giving to George Kimball for 25 pounds, fifty acres of land in the Eastern Province of NJ. [Coulter's source: Book ABN 4, page 414. Publick records of the Proprietors of the Eastern Division of NJ in the Survy General office at Perth Amboy in Book SN 4, page 234] George Kimber's deed dated December 13, 1762 was presented to the Town of Minisink by Margaret W. Myers in March 1984 and is currently in possession of the Minisink Museum. This deed was for 2 tracts of land. The first tract contained 90 acres and 24/100 of an acre and was situated between Joseph Barton and Elijah Inman's lands. The second tract "on the west branch of the Wallkill" " most northerly corner of a tract of land returned to said George Kimber the tenth day of August 1759" "which two tracts after allowance for highways are to remain for one hundred sixty-one acres and seventy four hundredths of an acre".
