Word has been received in this city of the death at Denver, Col., of David C. Sayer, a former well known resident of Middletown, whose illness with typhoid fever has been mentioned in the Times.
Deceased spent his early life in Middletown and at the completion of his school days learned the printer's trade in this city. He married Gussie Ogden, daughter of Wood T. Ogden, deceased, who, with six children, five daughters and one son, survives him. The oldest child is fourteen years and the youngest two years of age.
Mr. Sayer was an expert linotype operator and was employed in the office of the Smith-Brooks Printing Co., the largest printing house in Denver. He was well liked by his employers and his associates. He was the presiding officer of the Denver Lodge of the Legion of Honor.
Previous to his removal to Denver Mr. Sayer was employed by Herman Ritter, in the office of the New York Staats Zeltung, on an English paper published by Mr. Ritter. He was so well liked by Mr. Ritter that when he left for Denver the latter informed him that his place would always be open for him whenever he wanted to return.
Mr. Sayer's health improved so materially while in Denver that he concluded to spend his days there, although he always had a longing to return east. He was a devoted husband and father and his home in Denver was an exceptionally happy one. He has many friends here who will sympathize with his widow in her bereavement.

Mrs. Cornelia Jane Ogden, widow of the late Jonathan Ogden, of this village, died last evening at about 10 o'clock, at the house of her son-in-law, Mr G. B. Fuller, of the hat firm of Fuller Brothers, on West Main street. The lady had been ill for some months with gastric fever, and her life had been prolonged for weeks only by the care that was given her. She leaves four married daughters. They are Flora, wife of E. M. Madden, Jr.; Virginia, wife of G. B. Fuller; Jane, wife of E. M. Norton, all of this village; and Frank, wife of Charles Palmer, of Port Jervis, and Ruth, who was the wife of the late Ira Webb, of Ellenville.
