Germain Laverdure Doucet born in 1596, Immigrated to Nova Scotia, Canada with D'Aulnay, from Vienna France who was one of the first settlers to come. Germain was not only a tutor for D'Aulnay's children, but became his personal and confidential administrator-manager. After establishing settlements, these first men sent for recruits to come to populate and establish a colony. Colonists came permanently to cultivate the land, resettle themselves, and to engage in the trading of furs, dried fish, and wood.
