Includes NotesNotes for Flora May Russell:
Flora was a short woman that loved to cook and maintained grape vines of white and purple. She always had grape pies or grape jellies and homemade salt rising bread. She kept them in an old metal pie cabinet. The family fruit cellar was located under the west end of the house. They had all kinds of canned goodies, potatoes and cabbage. James and Flora dug the potatoes and sorted the smaller ones to the side. Their son James Edward would save these to his family stock. Flora would boil the small ones for Ed's old hound dog and that's where he obtained the name "Tater Soup". The name was later shortened to "Tater" and Ed, his son Garland and Garland's sons all were nicknamed Tater through the years.
