Joseph Sturbois (son of Gustave Sturbois and Jennse) was born Aug 1877 in Belgium, and died 15 Aug 1956. He married Clara Ellen Dwiggins on 15 Mar 1902 in Madison Co. Indiana, daughter of James Willard Dwiggins and Flora May Russell.

 Includes NotesNotes for Joseph Sturbois:
The natural gas boom of Indiana was inviting to many in the glass business since kilns would burn continually and costs would be cheap and supplies plentiful. Joseph Sturbois migrated to Orestes, Indiana in the county of Madison from Belgium. He was employed by the Sunflower Glass Company and the United Window Glass as a glass blower and enjoyed the wages of $25 per week when a dollar a day was common.

Joseph fell in love and married Clara Ellen Dwiggins, a daughter of James Willard Dwiggins and Flora May Russell of Orestes. Supplies of gas dwindled and Belgium workers joined forces and purchased a similar business in Coffeeville, Kansas. Loriaux Edward was born to them in 1906 only about a mile from the Osage Indian Reservation. Joseph and Clara always joked with him telling that another mile and he would have been an Indian.

The business venture did not work out too well and Clara longed to move back to Indiana and live on a small farm. They moved back and returned to Orestes and the old neighborhood in Belgium Town.
