Obituary in Memphis "Commercial Appeal", Sept 1957: [summarized] Died at 8:55 pm in the Crittenden County Hospital. A Planter and Civic leader Born in Memphis where he learned his early farming on his father's farm. Attended Rollins College in Florida and Bingham Military Academy in Asheville, N.C. Attended the "old" Mississippi A&M College, specializing in agriculture. Served for many years on the Crittendon County and Arkansas Production Marketing boards. Chairman of the Crittendon County education board from its founding in 1947 until his death.. Prior to that, he had served for two decades as a member of the district school board. He was a trustee of Arkansas State College and the school's foundation. He served a chairman of the board of governors of the Crittendon County Memorial Hospital, was instrumental in founding that institution and was a trustee of the hospital association. He served two terms on the Federal Reserve Board in St. Louis. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and boating. Parents: Henry BANKS and Sallie DOCKERY.
