| This is the history of our Family, much of which dates back many generations. Some of the surnames you will find here are Ellis, Callahan, Russell, Vanderzee, Wood, Batton, Brunning, Sieberath and more. Countries of origin include England, Scotland and Germany. Our story is like so many American stories, those that settled in the New England states and moved with western expansion into Minnisota, Wisconsin and North Dakota. For other branches, it was settling in Maryland and Virginia and for the most part, stayed put. For the Brunnings, it was immigrating from Germany. The Sieberath line in the US began with a young WWII soldier bringing his "War Bride" back from Germany. The Callahan line was absorbed when two young soldiers married and started their family. It's all here. I started my own research in my family history through my Father, Len and his devoted companion, Char. Much of my information about the Ellis, Russell and Vanderzee lines comes with their help and their research. I couldn't have done this without them. I have begun the task of researching my husbands line which includes Callahan, Wood and Batton. This has been my challange. As our families grow and change, so will this site. Feel free to browse.
