This part is based on oral family history and I will not include Laura's history until I find documented proof. It is said that her parents are Cornelius Vanderbilt and Phoebe Hand. They are also the parents of Cornelius Vanderbilt who became the wealthy shipping tycoon. If that is true then the line can be traced back many more generations.
