456. John WILCOXSON* was born on 21 Jun 1728 in CHATHAM, PA. He died about 1793 in NORTH CAROLINA. Willcoxson family bible in the possession of E. Creighton Wilcoxen, Lexington, KY. He was married to Sarah BOONE* on 29 May 1742 in PHILADELPHIA CO., PA.

457. Sarah BOONE* was born on 7 Jun 1724 in BERKS, PA?. She died about 1815 in MADISON CO., KY. The Boones were Quakers and evidently, the Wilcoxens were not, as Sarah was condemned to her marriage. Sarah and her husband migrated to North Carolina with the rest of the Squire's family between 1750 and 1752. Sarah and her husband later removed to Kentucky. John Wilcoxen was killed by the Indians in 1782. Children were:

child i. John WILCOXSON JR. was born about 1744 in PA. He died after 1830 in HOWARD CO., MO.

child iii. Isaac WILCOXSON was born before 1751 in PA. He died before Oct 1783. On the 17th of Oct. 1775, the Freeholders and Householders of Rowan County, NC elected Isaac Wilcoxen as one of the member of the Committee of Safety. He before the 10th of Oct. 1783, when the state of North Carolina granted to Ruth Wilcoxen 320 acres beginning at the corner of land owned by James Noland. Records are missing to prove where Ruth and her children were living for the next ten years, but she appeared in the census records of Rowan Co., NC in 1787 with one male under 21 and 5 females and was taxed in Fayette Co, NC on July 1795. In 1790, as a resident of Rowan Co., she gave power of attorney to William Willcockson of Wilkes Co., NC. By Aug 6, 1795, Ruth had moved to Woodford Co., KY, from which area, she and her son, Joseph, gave power of attorney to John Clifford of Rowan Co., NC to sell her land there. John Clifford sold for them "200 acres on the waters of Dutchman's Creek to John McMahan, 7 Oct 1797. Ruth Willcockson and her son, Joseph, are entered in court records with the spelling "Wilcox" from 1799.

child v. Israel WILCOXSON was born before 1755. He died about 1780 in BRYANT'S STATION, KY. Israel Wilcoxen was killed by the Indians at Booneborough, KY. (Letter from Jeremiah Wilcoxen, grandson of Samuel Willcockson, postmarked Canton, IL, dated April 18, 1861.)
