He appeared on the census in 1870 in Monegaw Twp, ST CLAIR, MO. pg 413 He died on 28 Oct 1892 in ST CLAIR, MO. He was buried on 30 Oct 1892 in Harmony Cemetery, ST CLAIR, MO. St Clair County Missouri cemetery book for Harmony Cemetery. James and Mary Greer Clardy were living in Jersey City, Jersey, IL when their first child, Etna Jane was born. Mary died between 1860 and 1862. James remarried and by his second wife, Pauline Kessinger, had five children: Ida, Rachel, John Daniel , Laura and Lee. James was a farmer in Illinois. He lived in Jersey and Greene counties from 1853 to 1860. He had a real estate value of $1200 and a personal estate value of $400. He was married to Mary Ann GREER* on 31 Aug 1852 in GREENE CO., IL.

31. Mary Ann GREER* was born on 10 Oct 1830 in KY. She resided NEWFIELD, GREENE, IL in 1860. She died on 20 Mar 1862 in GREENE CO., IL. She was buried in Hickory Grove Cem, Wright Twp, GREENE, IL. Could William Greer be the father of Mary Ann? He is listed on John Clardy's probate. Children were:

child iii. Elinor CLARDY was born on 26 Nov 1859 in ILLINOIS. She resided NEWFIELD, GREENE, IL in 1860. She died on 19 Feb 1861 in GREENE CO., IL. She was buried on 23 Feb 1861 in Hickory Grove Cem, Wright Twp, GREENE, IL. This child died at 1 yr 2 mo and 23 days. Her name could have been Elizina instead of Elinor.
