(91) BIOGRAPHY: Richard Bull's family moved to Guilford County, North Carolina where their children were born. Richard was accepted by Deep River MM as a member in 1780, but his wife Mary had some difficulty satisfying her former meeting, Bradford, that she had resumed Quaker ways. In 1781 she was accepted back into Quaker membership. He was married to Mary Talbot in 1767 in Chester Co., Pennsylvania.

for Mary Bull which was read approved and signed.
1/12/1781 (Bradford MM) "At a Monthly Meeting held at Caln the 12th of
the 1st mo 1781. This meeting received an acknowledgement from Mary Bull formerly
Talbot condemning her outgoine in marriage & her giving way to the customs
of faxhions of the world, & also a few lines from friends of Deep River Monthly
Meeting in North Carolina the Place of her Present Dwelling, wherein they set
forth that they have taken the Necessary Care on our behalf of appointing friends
to Visit her & found Nothing to obstruct her being received. Which matters
being confirmed this meeting accepts of her acknowledgement... Wm Moade is appointed
to assist the Women friends in Preparing a Certificate for Mary Bull directed
to friends of Deep River MM in North Carolina.
8/7/1780 (Deep River MM) Mary given a paper of recommendation, directed to Bradford
MM, Pa, to assist her in regaining her right of mbrp. Benjamin Talbot was
married about 1735 to Elizabeth ___ of Darby meeting and they had children, John,
Joseph, Mary, Elizabeth, Benjamin and William. She retained her membership among
Friends and seems to have endeavored to keep her children within the pale, but
with little success. The family removed to the northwestern part of Chester county
about or before 1759, and some of their descendants may still be found there.
Of the daughters, Mary went to North Carolina and married _____ Bull, Elizabeth
married _____ Phillips.
BIOGRAPHY: Mary had some difficulty satisfying her former meeting (Bradford)
that she had resumed Quaker ways. In 1781 she was accepted back into the Quaker
membership at Deep River MM.
