Capt Zachariah Moorman ⁽⁵²⁾⁽⁹¹⁾⁽²⁶⁸⁾⁽²⁶⁹⁾⁽³⁷⁷⁾ was born in 1620 in Isle of Wight, Hampshire, England.⁽²⁶⁹⁾ Stanley shows his birth to be in Hampshire, England; 1619/20 He died in 1702 in Nansemond Co., Virginia.⁽²⁶⁹⁾ ⁽³⁷⁸⁾ 1619 His father was probably Thomas Moorman (abt 1583-abt1640) who came to Virginia with the London company on the ship Nova Bona.

1620 Born on the Isle of Wight, England while his father was in Virginia.

1646 Married Ann Candler, daughter of William Candler in Belfast, Ireland.

1669 Sailed from Southhampton, England on the ship Glasglow to Barbados in the West Indies with his children. His wife was not mentioned in records.

1670 Sailed on to Charlestown, South Carolina and finally to Virginia.

1702 Died in Nansemond County, Virginia

Zachariah Moorman was a Captain in the English Army, then a Quaker and armigerous.

Anne Mary or Mary Ann Candler⁽⁹¹⁾ ⁽³⁸⁰⁾⁽³⁸¹⁾ was born after 1636 in England.⁽³⁸²⁾⁽³⁸³⁾ She died after 1668 in Virginia or England.⁽³⁸⁴⁾⁽²⁶⁹⁾ Stanley states that she died in England as she was not with the family when they came to Virginia. Daughter of Lieutenant Colonel William Candler of Callan Castle at Belfast, Ireland. Some sources state he was a Lieutenant but all agreed he fought in Cromwell's Army.

ii. Charles Moorman⁽³⁸⁵⁾ was born in 1660 in Isle of Wight, Hampshire, England.⁽²⁶⁹⁾⁽³⁸⁶⁾ He died before 1700 in Green Springs, Louisa Co., Virginia.⁽³⁸⁷⁾ 1668 Born in England or New Kent Co., Virginia depending on source.

1669 Sailed to Barbados in the ship Glasglow with father and family.

1670 Sailed to Charlestown, South Carolina and then moved to Virginia.

1704 Married Elizabeth daughter of Christopher Reynolds in Virginia.

1735 Patented three tracts of land in Louisa County and 400 acres in Albemarle County at the junction of Mechum and Moorman Rivers.

1744 10 Sep, Chosen as an overseer of the Caroline Meeting of Quakers at Golansville. He also served as Justice of the Peace.

1754 Charged by the Friends to make a mission to their members living in the mountains in order to inquire as to whether they desired to continue with their own meetings there.

1755 24 May, Wrote will.

1757 24 May, Will recorded in Louisa County (Probate Rec Will Bk I pg 35-6), VA. Will named wife Elizabeth, sons Thomas, Charles and Achilles and daughters Judith wife of John Douglas and Ann wife of Thomas Martin.

1761 9 Jan, Widow wrote her will and named the same children as his will.

1765 11 May, Widow's will proven (probate rec will bk I pg 68) in Louisa County, Virginia
