She was married to Joseph Ray Barnes (son of Elhanan Davies Barnes and Lydia Emily Goff) on 7 Nov 1917 in Central City, Merrick Co., Nebraska. Joseph Ray Barnes⁽¹²⁹⁾⁽³⁴⁾⁽⁴⁾ was born on 19 Oct 1889 in near Guthrie Center, Guthrie Co., Iowa.⁽⁹⁾ He died on 11 Jun 1972 in Caldwell, Canyon Co., Idaho. He was buried in Greenleaf, Canyon Co., Idaho. Ray moved his family from Merrick Co., Nebraska to several Nebraska towns during the years 1925-1937 as he pursued a school teaching career. In 1938 he returned to farming, moving to Owyhee Co., Idaho Bessie Amanda Mesner and Joseph Ray Barnes had the following children:
