"John and Sarah (Emry) Bones and their children -- Ethel, Catherine, and
Harbison -- decided to leave Pleasant Plain, Iowa, to join relatives who had
previously settled in the Friends Church settlement in Springbank, Nebraska,
in 1883. The family moved to a farm one-half mile east of Springbank and were
living there during the great blizzard of 1888. A few years later they moved
to a farm located on the corner of the road about a mile west of the Oakdale
School. In 1902 John and Sarah moved back to Iowa but again returned to Waterbury,
Nebraska, where John died in the spring of 1918. Sarah lived withy her daughter
until her death in July, 1928."
