63. John Quincy Adams Emry ⁽¹⁾⁽³⁾⁽⁴⁾⁽¹²²⁾ was born on 25 Jul 1857 in Pleasant Plain, Jefferson Co., Iowa. He was on 25 Mar 1882 in Friends Church, Spring Bank, Nebraska.⁽⁶⁾⁽⁶⁾ "Other families of Friends or those closely related to them, came in the years that followed. Attracted by the opportunity for obtaining cheap homes either by homestead entry or purchase. Chief among these may be noted the families of John Q. Emry, ..., Frank Emry, David Emry ... and others ... Spring Bank MM was set up Mar. 25, 1882, in this frame school house by Pleasant Plain quarterly Meeting, Iowa, with J.J. Andrews as clerk. David Emry, Leah J. Paxson and Eleanor Pickard attended the opening by appointment of the Quarterly Meeting. Charter members included John Q. Emry and Eleanor Emry, his wife; Ross and Josie Emry, their children." In reference to Spring Bank and elk Valley meetings, "John q. Emry was recorded a minister, Aug 25, 1883."
