He was married to Ruth Hodson (daughter of Robert Hodson and Elizabeth (Betsy) Frazier (twin)) on 24 Sep 1855 in Jefferson Co., Iowa.(27) Ruth Hodson(9) (28)(14) (29) (30)(31) was born on 5 Nov 1835 in Randolph Co., Indiana. She died on 11 Jan 1922 in Pleasant Plain, Jefferson Co., Iowa. She was buried in Walnut Creek Friends Cemetery, Penn Twp., Jefferson Co., Iowa. Obituary:
Ruth Hodson daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Hodson was born in Randoulph ounty, Indiana, November 5, 1835 and passed away January 11, 1922, age 86 years 2 months and 6 days.

She came with her parents to Iowa in 1841 and settled in the lower Richwoods neighborhood, having spent almost her entire in or near Pleasant Plain.

She was united in marriage with Thomas F. Emry in the fall of 1853. To this union were born 6 children, 2 sons and 4 daughters. One son Robert H. of Brighton and one daughter Miss Susanna Emry at home survive her. One son and three daughters having preceeded her in death. Her husband passed away November 6, 1895.

She was greatly loved by relatives and friends. She was a friend to all in times of need and was always thoughtful of others. Her parents were Conservative Friends and she held to that belief.

Besides the son and daughter she leaves 17 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and many nephews and neices, two sisters-in-law and friends with out number.

She was the last one of a company of nineteen persons who came to Iowa from Indiana in 1841. This company came in five covered wagons and all settled near Pleasant Plain.

Funeral services were held at the home Friday with burial in the Walnut (Grove?) Cemetery. Thomas Frazier Adcock-Emry and Ruth Hodson had the following children:
