"Edward, Son of Squire Boone Sr. and Sarah Morgan Boone was born Nov30, 1740 in Exeter Twp. Berks Co., PA. Married Martha Bryan, daughterof Joseph and Alee Bryan and a sister to Rebecca, Daniel Boone's wife.Edward moved with his parents to the Yadkin District in N. C. when hewas about 10 years old. He married Martha in the Yadkin District andtheir children were all born there. He went to Kentucky with hisbrother, Daniel Boone. He and Daniel and several other men had goneto the Blue Licks Salt Licks to boil down salt. It took 680 galls ofsalt water to boil down a bushel of salt. It cost a $5 Continentalbill to buy a bushel of salt. On their way back to FortBoonesborough, they stopped to let the horses graze. Edward wascracking nuts with a stone and was killed by Indians (Shawnees) onOct 6, 1780 in Clark Co.(Boonesborough), (near Blue Lick River) KY.Martha Bryan Boone was only in her 30's when Ned was killed and shedid not remarry. She lived on Boone's Creek and died in 1793 inFayette Co., KY. Edward was a Baptist preacher and loved to sing."

Edward Boone's death:

"Daniel and Edward Boone went hunting on Himkstone. Found a goodgrassy spot and stopped to let their horses graze. Edward Boonepicked up some nuts and commenced cracking them on a stone in his lapand watching the horses while Daniel Boone said he would take a walkand come back by the time the horses were through picking; he hadscarcely gone when several guns cracked and he saw two or threeIndians after him. He darted off into the cane and was followed by adog. Finally to evade him he stepped behind a tree and shot the dogas it approached. Indians came up and rolled over the dead dog,looked at it regretfully and departed. Col. Boone saw the indians butthought it wisest to remain quiet. Seven balls had been shot intoEdward and he must have been killed instantly."

Martha Bryan Boone's will said that Jane Boone Morgan(daughter ofEdward Boone and Martha Bryan) and husband, Morgan Morgan were livinga few miles East of Baton Rouge, LA . Martha Bryan Boone's will datedMay 12, 1793.

Born in Stoak, a hamlet near Exeter in Devonshire England, 1666
In 1712 his son, George Jr, Sarah, and Squire went to Pennsylvania tospy out the land. George went back to the family and on the 17th ofAugust 1717, they went to Bristol and sailed for Philadelphia. Theyarrived October 10, 1717.

George followed with the rest of family 4 years later. He went on toserve for many years as justice of the peace, and when he became tooold and frail to continue, the position passed to his oldest son,George Jr.

They "joined themselves to Gwynedd Meeting." When population growthled to the division of Oley township in 1741, the section in which theBoones resided was renamed Exeter, in honor of their English origins. Parents: George BOONE II and Sarah UPPEY.

Born in Bradninch, Devonshire, England; Died Oct 1785 in Exeter Twp,Berks Co., Pa. John never married; was a school teacher and man ofsome learning.
It was he who preserved the record of the family births and deaths andpassed them on to his nephew James (son of James and Mary) whocompiled them into the quaint genealogy which has come down to us. Hedied in his eighty-fourth year; having lived in America exactly 68years. His will, which was signed Oct 5, 1785, proven 22 Oct 1785,mentions nephews Judah, Moses, James and Joshua; and Martha, wife ofGeorge Hughes, Rachel, wife of William Wilcoxson, Anne, wife ofAbraham Lincoln, and Mary, wife of Thomas Lee, all of whom werechildren of his brother James. He also mentiones an Isaiah Boone. Parents: George BOONE III and Mary Milton MAUGRIDGE.
