FOURTH GENERATION43. David COMEE (1) was born on 20 Apr 1744 in Lexington, Middlesex, Massachusetts. He was christened on 7 Oct 1744 in Lexington, Middlesex, Massachusetts. He died on 18 Mar 1826 in Gardner, Worcester, Massachusetts. David was not a member of any militia, but he did fight alongside the minutemen and militia 19 Apr 1775. He was also at the battle of Bunker Hill. While in a fierce battle a ball from the enemy cut the hair from his head (it being clubbed up); another ball stuck his gun as it was poised before him, tearing the barrel out of the stock, and leaving the ball remianing. The Revolutionary Rolls (xvii, 239) indicate that David was at Roxbury with Captain Stephen Dana's Company while the forts were erected at Dorcester Heights. He again served with Captain Manasseh Sawyer's Company in Colonel Dike's Regiment from 12 Dec 1776 to 1 Mar 1777 (xxxvi, 419). The Revolutionary Rolls (xx, 108) show David at the Bennington Alarm on 22 Aug 1777 and that he marched to east Hoosick with Captain Elisha Jackson's Complany and Major Bridge. He is also shown to have served with Captain Nathaniel Carter's Company in Colonel Job Cushing's Regiment from 7 Sep 1777 to 29 Nov 1777 (xvii, 31). He moved from Lexington to the part of Westminster which in 1785 was incorporated as Gardner, Massachusetts. He was married to Christian

Christiana CASTOR) on 11 Oct 1774 in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts.
