Mrs. Addie M. Marmorine, age 88, passed away at the Clearwater Memorial
Hospital in Bagley Sunday, October 20th. She had been a patient at the
hospital for two days prior to her passing.

Mrs. Marmorine was born in Maine on May 9, 1880 to parents Mr. and Mrs.
Palmer. She came to Winthrop, Minnesota with her parents as a young girl. She
was married at Winthrop to Adolphus Marmorine on December 25, 1899. In 1900
they came to Clearwater County and first settled in Leon Township. They
moved to Clearbrook in 1925 and Mrs. Marmorine had been living in the
Good Samaritan Center in Clearbrook since 1969.

Surviving her passing are three children: Milton of Gonvick; Orin of
Cleveland, Ohio and (Edna) Mrs. Hester Holman of Aurora Minnesota.
Sixteen grand children and many great grand children also survive. Mrs.
Marmorine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1940 two
daughters, one son, six sisters and four brothers. She was a member of
the First Lutheran Church in Clearbrook and active in their ladies groups.
Funeral services were held today, Wednesday, October 23rd at 2 p.m. in
the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clearbrook. The Rev. Richard Larson
will officiate and the burial will take place in the Bagley City Cemetery
under the direction of the Cease Funeral Home of Bagley.(1)

CLEARBROOK MAN IS BURIED MONDAY

Adolphus Marmorine of north of Clearbrook passed away last Tuesday, April
9, and the funeral service was held Monday afternoon, April 15, at the
First Lutheran church at Clearbrook. The Rev. Edw. Livingston was in
charge of the service, and the Neujahr Funeral Home in charge of
arrangements.

Pallberarers were Albert Anderson, Olai Skime, George Granley, Maurice
Westrum, Bennet Baggaason and Andrew Gunning. Mrs. Livingston sang a
solo, and Warren Koxvold was organist.

Born Sept. 15, 1876, at Henderson, Minn., he lived there with his parents
Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Marmorne until he had finished school there. He taught
several terms of school near there.

In 1899 he wsa united in marriage to Addie Palmer at Winthrop, and in
1900 they moved to the northern part of the state and settled in what is
now Clearwater county.

After settling here Mr. Marmorine operated a country store and
postoffice, and also taught the first term of school held in Leon
township. In 1902 the couple took a homestead 3 1/2 miles north of
Clearbrook where the family home has been since.

To this union were born six children, one whom died in infancy. Left to
mourn are the wife; two sons, Milton of Clearbrook and Orin of Cleveland,
Ohio; and three daughters, Myrtle Carlson of Clearbrook, Alpha Howard of
Plummer, and Edna Holmen of Bagley. He also leaves three brothers,
Alfred of Clearbrook, Charley of Gonvick and August of Henderson, and 11
grandchildren.(1)
