36. Joseph COMEE
(1) was born on 4 Aug 1728 in Lexington, Middlesex,
Massachusetts. He died on 29 Jan 1815 in Foxboro, Norfolk, Massacchusetts.
His occupation when he married was cordwainer (shoemaker). Joseph was one of
the signers of the unsuccessful petition of 1773 for the incorporation of Foxboro.
Once Foxboro was incorporated, Joseph was active at most of the town meetings.
He was selected as the "Sealer of Leather" in 1778 & 1780-1782.
He was married to Hannah SKINNER on 17 Nov 1800 in FOXBOROUGH, NORFOLK, MASSACHUSETTS.
He was married to Mary MERRIAM (daughter of Benjamin
MERRIAM and Mary) about 1750. Mary
MERRIAM(1) was born on 4 Apr 1733 in
Lexington, Middlesex, Massachusetts. She died on 22 Mar 1815 in Lexington, Middlesex,
Massachusetts. Joseph COMEE and Mary MERRIAM had the following children:

Joseph COMEE(1) was born on 1 Jul 1753
in Lexington, Middlesex, Massachusetts. He died on 19 Apr 1775 in Lexington,
Middlesex, Massachusetts. At Lexington Common Joseph along with Caleb Harrington,
and Joshua Simonds entered the meeting-house to resupply themselves with ammunition.
While in the meeting house the British soldiers moved into position almost cutting
off any escape from the meeting house. Joseph and Caleb ran from the meeting
house towards Marrett Munroe's house through a barrage of musket fire. Dodging
musket balls proved fruitless for the two. Caleb fell to a fatal blow while
Joseph was hit in the arm. It was later that day that Joseph fell.
