255. Elbridge Gerry COMEY ⁽¹⁾ was born on 21 Nov 1811 in Hopkinton, Middlesex, Massachusetts. He died on 19 Apr 1868 in Hopkinton, Middlesex, Massachusetts. Was a Lieutenant in the Militia in Hopkinton. He was a member of the Congretional Church. While he lived in Holliston he was a farmer as well as working in a factory making horn combs.

He was married to Abigail Jackson PIERCE on 21 Oct 1832 in Hopkinton, Middlesex, Massachusetts. Abigail Jackson PIERCE⁽¹⁾ died on 9 Jun 1893 in Clinton, Massachusetts. Elbridge Gerry COMEY and Abigail Jackson PIERCE had the following children:

443 v. Manlius COMEY⁽¹⁾ was born on 18 Mar 1843 in Hopkinton, Middlesex, Massachusetts. He died on 20 Dec 1864. During the Civil War Manilus enlisted with Compnay F, First Regiment, Massachusetts Volunteer, Heavy Artillery on 4 Aug 1862. His unit was engaged in duty at Maryland Heights and Fort Duncan loading the best of the guns on canal boats and sending them down the Potomac. The regiment continued its' duty of garrisoning forts on the Virginia side of the Potomac through May 1864. On May 14th they joined Tyler's Division of heavy artillery. They marched on May 17th to a position in front of the Confederate lines near Spottsylvania Court House. The battle of Harris Farm, near Spottsylvania was his first major engagement. The regiment also saw action at Totpotomoy and Cold Harbor operations, May 31-Jun 12th. Crossing the James River on June 14, the regiment was engaged in the assault on the Petersburg entrenchments. During the Battle at Petersburg, Virginia, June 22nd, he was captured. He died on board the steamer New York en route north during an exchange of POWs.
