SEVENTH GENERATION445. Perley Pierce COMEY DR. (1) was born on 14 Jan 1852. He died on 9 Mar 1924 in Augusta, Georgia. In 1868 he was sent to the Oread High School in Worcester, a classical school connected with the Oread Institute, afterwards learning the apothecary business in Worcester. Later he studied medicine with Dr. A.P. Richardson of Boston and at the Harvard Medical Collage at which he graduated in June 1878. He began a practice that same year in Clinton, Massachusetts. He almost immediately began to have a very liberal patronage and soon had a very extensive practice, not only in Clinton but in all the adjoining towns. He removed to the larger field of Worcester about 1897 though still retaining much of his country practice. His office was at 61 Lincoln St. Perley held membership in the Massachusetts Medical, Worcester Medical Association, the Association of Boards of Health, Chairman of the Board of Helat from 1889 to 1894, Chairman of the Board of Selectmen 1892 to 1895, he was also a Mason and Odd-Fellow, a member of the Improved Order of Red Me, Knights of Honor and United Ordere of Golden Cross.
