About Our Family Research

Our Family search began in the early 70's and we were fortunate enough to have a genealogist to help in our search. Because my mother was adopted any attempt to locate any of her immediate family was found to be futile. But we did find out my mother was the youngest of 7 other children and why the family had been split up was because her Father had been tried and convicted of cattle rustling in Salida Colorada in 1936. Her mother had been unable to care for the children and the State came and took all of the children away. Because of our modern world of high-tech,In march of 2003, some 65 years later my Mother was once again reunited with her 2 remaining Brothers. It has been a very emotional blessing for the entire Family.Because of the world Family Tree I have traced my Indian Heritage back to the 1700's. On my fathers side of the tree I too have faced challenges in the links to my Family because My father's family have all been deceased for years. I am tracing my ties to Joseph William Slade via the Internet. The only reason I have for doing this is because of comments my Grandfather Evans made to me when I was a child. His wife, my Grandmother was a Slade. Her father was Eugene William Slade. I was told Jack Slade was a Great Uncle.
