When about twelve years of age she came to Iowa with her grandparents who settled
in Wayne County. On April 30, 1876. She was united in marriage to A. J. (Abner
Johnathan) Ewing. To this union nine children were born. Five girls and four
boys. Two of the children died in infancy and two after they were grown. About
the year 1883 the family moved to Mills County where they resided for some years,
then returned to Wayne County and in 1889 again returned to Mills County where
they have since made their home. On July 20, 1902 she was converted and united
with the Wesley Chapel Methodist church. To the end of her life her faith in
the Lord was steadfast.
She leaves to morn the five children---- William Andrew, of Norcatur,Kansas,
Charles of Silver City, Ia, Reuben Holcome, of Golden,Colorado, Millie Pearl
Dunn of Malvern, Ia, one brother James Armon of Des Moines,Ia, fifteen grandchildren
and one great grandchild with other friends.
Funeral services were conducted at Wesley Chapel by Rev. R. V. Felt, assisted
by Rev. L. E. Coleman, paster at Wesley Chapel. Interment in the Wesley Chapel
cemetery.
She died from cause of death "mitral insufficiency" on MAY 15 1925.
