"We're satisfied, will you become our candidate?" To this Nixon
replied, 'I'd like to have a little time to talk with Pat about this.
It is a big decision for us you know.' A short time later Nixon
reappeared in the dining room and announced that 'they' had decided to
take the step. He would be a candidate."
Frank began his political career after a school board election which
eventually led to his being appointed a member of the Republican
Central Committee of Los Angeles County. He served as the 12th
Congressional District Chairman, Vice-Chairman for the State
Republican Committee. Frank visited with Richard Nixon in 1949 some
of the major cities in California to determining how much support Nixon
might have if he ran for the 1951 Senate.
