Charles served in Company "E" of the 149th Regiment of the Ohio National Guard. The regiment was organized on the 8th of May in 1864 at Camp Dennison, Ohio and was partly formed from the 27th regiment of the Ohio National Guard. Charles was a Private. Only two men from this regiment were killed in the War however four were taken prisoner. He died on 25 Dec 1908 in Burrton, Kansas. The 1850 Federal Census lists Charles as "Wilson C. "Finemore" birth in Ohio, age 12, attended school in the last year. Charles and Margaret moved to Savannah, Missouri in 1866 with his brother Ebenezer. He lived in Burrton, Kansas from 1873 until 1905. In 1907 he was residing in Fort Dodge, Kansas. The 1860 Census for Ross County, Ohio in the Union Township taken on 11th July 1860 shows the age Wilson as 21 years old living with his wife Margaret. They were living at dwelling 625 and the 615th family visited for the census. Wilson and Margaret were living just two homes from his Uncle Henry's wife and children. This is the text of Christophers will: I Christopher Fenimor of Newnton Purcell in the countie of Oxon, husbandmand, being sicke in bodie but whole and perfect inmynd and memerie doe make my last will and testament in maner and forme follwinge. Imormis I bequeath my soule to god who gve it hopinge to have perfect remission of all my sinns by the death and passion of Jesus Christ my only savior and redeemer and my bodie to be buried in the churchyard of Newnton Purcell aforesaid. Item my will is that all my temporall possessions, goods and livings be passed wholly together without seperacon by my wyffe and my sonne John as shall be hereafter notified and declared, paying out the same those legacies heare under named to the rest of my children in this mannaer as first. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Ellin five pounds ot be paid to her or her husband the one halfe upon the feast day of thepurification of the virgin marie commonly called Camdlemas (2 Feb) Day next and the other halfe upon the feast of the penticost comonlie called Whitsundaie then following which five pounds my will is shallbe made of some of those trees growing at Tingewick. Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Ellins childe a sheepe to be delivered unto her use personally after my decease. Item my will is that my other three daughters Alice, Margarett & Mathew (>) have each of them tenn pounds a peece beside those caattell they now have which are to be sett out to their severall uses personallie after my decease. Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne Richard three pounds beside the heiffers he now hath which shalbe sett out to his uses personally/id after my deceasse. Item I give and bequeath to the poore of this towne three shillings to the church purse. Item to Anne Taylor my god daughter I give and bequeath a sheepe. Item my will is that all the rest of my goods, possessing or possessions, living or livings, cattell or chattell moveable and removeable now bequeathed shall be used; had, occupied, enjoyed jointly together by my wyffe and my sonne John. Butt yet my will is that they shall be wholie at my wiffess disponsinge whome I do make my sole exceutrix to see this is my last will truly discharged and my final/fervent hand/hour shall be performed; furthermore my will is that my sonne John doth for his part to be an obedient sonne and a trye and faithfulle servant unto his mother during her widowhood and not to marie withouth her soncsent, but if he doe, then to depart quite away, not molestinge her in anythinge. and alsoe my will is that my wife for her part shall not marie to the hurt and hindrance of him and the rest of my children but if she doe marie than I doe bind her by this my last will and testament to surrender up her estate, of that my house and living at Tingewicke personallie after her day of mnarriage or before unto my said sonne John, his hands, and to his onlie use without anie impeachment of ??? and to pay the said legacies to everied of my children abocve named withing one twelfthmoneth after mer mariage or if she doe not marie then to pay them at the houre of her death or else at the day of their marriages whichever of the three times above named doe come first, then thre said prcion shall be paid them if they not be paid before. Item my will is that my wyffe doe deliver above unto my sonne John wihtin one twelvemonteth after my decease which I doe give unto him besides his former porcon shallbe. My will is that if anie of my said chirldren John, Richard, Alice, Margarett or Mathew? doe depart this life before they have their said procon paid them and be not married that then the porcion of him, hir or them doe dyinge shall be indifferently devided amongst the rest.
