males living in his hotel/boarding house in 1830 and most may have been employees
helping Matthew in the construction of the Chillicothe section of the Ohio-Erie
Canal built between 1828 - 1832. in 1833 he built the first sawmill on Killbuck
Creek in Madison Co. Indiana In 1835 he was elected as Justice of Peace. 1835
Matthew built the National Hotel on the NW corner of 2nd and Miami streets in
Peru, Indiana He was working as a Justice of the Peace in 1835 in Richland Township,
Madison Co. Indiana. He was working as a Miller in Oct 1850 in Harrison Township,
Miami County, Indiana. He died on 28 Jan 1852 in Harrison Township, Miami County,
Indiana. He was buried in Feb 1852 in Perrysburg, Indiana. Burial is in the
Harpers Cemetery. Matthew helped found the town of Perryburg in Indiana. His
first marriage was in Ross County, Ohio to a Margaret Corbet. His second marriage
was to a Rebecca sometime during the years of 1836 to 1850. Matthew was an operator
of a hotel or boarding house in Chillicothe, Ohio in 1830. The census of 1830
listed 15 males from the ages of 20 to 30 years old and 5 males between the ages
of 10 and 15 years old. In 1831 Matthew was still a Ross County resident. In
that same year he entered land in Madison county in Indiana where in 1833 he
built the first sawmill on a creek named Killbuck. His residence at the time
was listed as Marion county, Indiana. In 1834 he entered more land in the county
and sold some of his land to his brother in law Thomas Craycroft. In 1835 Matthew,
his brother Samuel and sisters Sarah Bennett and Mary Ann Craycroft were residents
of Madison County. In 1835 he was elected the first Justice of Peace in Richland
Township and resigned that position in he same year and moved to Miami County
in Indiana when he and Margaret sold more land to his brother Samuel. In 1835
Matthew. In 1837 Matthew with a John R. Wildinsson laid out Perrysburg in Union
Township in Miamai County. By 1855 Matthew and his sister and families lived
in Harrison Township, in Miami county.
The Harrison, Miami, Indiana census taken on the 26th of October in 1850 shows the that time he was employed as a Miller. Matthew received $100.00 from his fathers estate in 1854 when Ebenezer died. Matthew was baptised by his father Martin Fenimore in the 102nd street chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Vancouver, Clark, Washington. The ceremony consisted of talks, a slide show of class members throughout the year in various activities and then a fireworks display. The ceremony was so noisy from the Grads that the principle said the class of 1998 was the noisest ever graduated from Evergreen High. The grads decorated the tops of their caps with everything from soda cans to battery operated lights. There was little ponp and cicumstance at the ceremony due to the "roudyness' of the grads. He was working as a Store Security in Jul 1998 in Vancouver, Clark, Washington. Matthew took on a job for the Home Base chain store. Matthew's main job is to prevent the stealing of building supply materials from the store by the public. Matthew has been physically attacked by persons but still maintains his job as of Feb 99. In his sophmore year in high school Matthew was playing Line Back on the Evergreen football team. Matthew was 6'4 and 240 pounds at 16 years of age and one inch taller and 10 punds lighter at age 18. At age 20 Matthew is 6'6 and 260 lbs. During the Clark County, Washington fair held each year in August, Matthew has worked since 1992 in the Lost Childrens booth. Obituary: BRACEWELL Mildred Glee, 74, died in the Midwest City Regional Hospital
on July 11, 1992, after a long, painful, and brave battle with cancer. Mildred
was born April 23, 1918, at Lineville, Iowa, the daughter of Odus and Blanche
Fenimore. After graduation from high school she became a licensed beautician
and ran a beauty shop in Allerton, Iowa, for several years. Mildred was united
in marriage on September 13, 1944, to James N. Bracewell. At this time she joined
her husband in his world-wide travels of military life in the United States Air
Force. She was a devoted military wife, wanting only to be with her husband
regardless of assignments. One daughter, Judith Ann, blessed this marriage. She
was raised in a very disciplined Methodist home and remained a very dedicated
Methodist member her entire life. She was very active in church services throughout
her husband's military career and always attended and supported the military
chapels. Mildred and her husband, James, located in Midwest City in 1970 and
immediately joined St. Matthew United Methodist Church. She was active in the
United Methodist Women and was a charter member of the Rebecca Circle, formed
in 1972. She loved quilting and sewing and spent happy hours with her circle
of friends quilting at the church. Mildred was a most active square dance member
and belonged to two different clubs in the area. Survivors include her husband
James N. Bracewell of the home, her daughter Judith Ann Schaefer and her husband
Russell of San Diego, California, two grandchildren Amy and Branden whom she
adored, and four sisters: Darlene Simmons of Midwest City, Hazel Glaze of Ackley,
Iowa, Lois Paul of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, and Jeane Bornhauser of Columbia,
Missouri. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Odus and Blanche Fenimore
of Allerton, Iowa, and sister Dorothy Anderson of Gowrie, Iowa. Services will
be held Tuesday, July 14, 10:00 a.m., at St. Matthew United Methodist Church,
300 North Air Depot, Midwest City, and will be conducted by Rev. C. Nicky Blackford
and Rev. Herbert A. Blessman. Interment will be in the Arlinton Memorial Gardens.
Viewing of the body may take place on Monday, July 13, at the Bill Eisenhour
Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials
be given to the St. Matthew United Methodist Memorial Fund, to be used in Mildred's
