Fennimore, Thos. (N. J.). Major New Jersey Militia, 1777 -1779. He died in Feb 1812 in Springfield Township, Burlington, New Jersey. He was born in Springfield Township, Burlington, New Jersey. Death was around DEC. 1811 to March 1812. Dates for his will and inventory of his estate. Thomas was in the Revolutionary War and was an Army First Major in the War and also was one of the first three to represent Burlington Co. NJ in 1776 when the New Jersey assembly was created. The assembly ousted the last Royal Governor named William Franklin. (William Franklin was Loyalist son of the American founding father Benjamin Franklin. After Benjamin returned to America from his tour as Ambassador to France he tried to rekindle his relationship with William but the two could not reconcile their differences with each other on the role of American Independance and remained distant until death.) Burlington, New Jersey when he signed a statement that a black man
named Oliver Cromwell had been known by him for over 30 years.
(Oliver was a drummer in the Revolutionary War and had military
discharge papers signed by General George Washington on 5 May 1783.
It is believed that Thomas is the same that purchased the Fenimore
house in Burlington, New Jersey in 1802 according to DeCou in 1945. Parents: Thomas FENIMORE and Mary HARKER .

bullet Victor Lane FENIMORE was born on 14 Mar 1931 in Battle Ground, Clark, Washington. Lane was born in the family home just outside of Battle Ground, Washington. The home latter burned down and by 1990 the only trace of the home or other out buildings is the root cellar which is in what is now a cow pasture. He Injury on 23 Jul 1942 in Montesano, Washington. Lane was playing with a blasting cap an put a "bobby" pin into it causing the cap to explode. The cap blew off three fingers and his thrumb from his righ hand. He was at the home of his aunt where the accident occurred. Several weeks latter his aunt found one of his fingers in her ceiling light shade. Lane has had stubs ever since and this has
not detered his abilities from tasks such as typing, or pulling triggers on guns. He was working as a Blacksmith between 1954 and 1968 in Portland, Multnomah, Oregon. He worked for Skookum in the manufacture of logging equipment. Skookum is located in St Johns, Portland, Oregon beneath the St Johns bridge. He was working as a Welder in 1968 in Vancouver, Clark, Washington. Worked for American Pipe in the manufacture of Oil Dericks for use off the California coast. He was working as a Millwrigt/Blacksmith/Welder between 1968 and 1996 in Portland, Multnomah, Oregon. Lane worked for Oregon Steel Mills from where he retired. His father, two brothers, a nephew, brother in law, cousin by marriage and a son worked at Oregon Steel Mills. He Injury in 1971 in Portland, Multnomah, Oregon. In 1971 at the Oregon Steel Mill in Portland, Oregon where Lane worked he was injured while welding a roll up door. Lane was 30 feet up on a ladder welding the top of the door when for an unknown reason he fell 30 or so feet and landed sideways on a railroad track rail. His leg was broken in a compound fracture requiring a medal rod to be installed in his leg for a year until the break healed. Lane's lower jaw was shattered and had to be rebuilt. He was in intensive care for a week and in the hospital for one month. The doctors said at the time he would not be able to walk again for some time. Lane had the ambition to get on his feet and was walking again with a cane in eight months and returned to work again in just over ten months. He was ill with Diabities on 13 Dec 1995 in Vancouver, Clark, Washington. Lane is able to control his diabeties through a change in his diet. He looks healthier since the change in diet and monitors his intake quite well. He retired on 29 Feb 1996 in Portland, Multnomah, Oregon. Lane likes to hunt and fish. Lane has shot over 50 Deer. As a past time Lane loads his own ammunition and has made several of the stocks for some of the guns in his collection. He has taught hunter safety courses in both Oregon and Washington. He has gone to northern BC on a successful hunting trip for moose. He excels at landscaping and gardening. As a child Lane and his brothers were always quite active. Lane lived in Portland, Oregon his whole life until he moved with his wife and sons to Scholls, Oregon in 1961. In 1967 he and his family moved to Hillsboro, Oregon and in 1968 the family moved to Ridgefield, Clark Washington to a mobile home park next to the county fair grounds. In 1971 the family moved the mobile home and themselves on to six acres of wooded land that Lane had purchased in Highland. Highland is an area six miles from La Center, Clark, Washington. In 1982 Lane and his second wife Victoria moved to Portland, Oregon to Mocks Crest area overlooking Swan Island. Lane and Victoria latter sold that home around 1987 and moved to Salmon Creek area of Vancouver, Washington located where Interstates 105 and 205 meet. In 1991 Lane and his wife moved to Longview, Washington for five month then sold their home and moved back to Vancouver. Lane in 1993 purchased a new home in the Hazel Dell area of Vancouver after his divorce from Victoria. In May of 1997 Lane sold this home and purchased a home in Toutle, Cowlitz, Washington located about 60 miles to the North. The home in Toutle is fairly remote and is on Silver Lake Road close to where the county road ends and the Weyerhauser land begins. Parents: Lloyd Edward FENIMORE and Sylvia Loretta JONES.
