Includes NotesNotes for Samuel E. Walker:
I will feed you information from my files. Some is just for
information that may lead us to who we aren't looking for. DeKalb CountyDeed
book # page 284. AN instrument in which Samuel Walker and Mary Elizabeth
Walker relinquish and release in favaor of Cintha, William .Anna, robert,
Thos., James,Levi, Nepthati, Patti all the right, title and interest both
legal and (equistle?) that they may have in and to a certain tract or parcel
of land in Smith County Civil Dist 20 bounded N. by Labin Drive, East by
Labin Driver, South by Yance Malone, West by Charles Denny - 64 A being the
tract of land which Robert Nixon de/d seized and possessed.

The 1830 Smith County Census - Samuel Wallker lived next to Robert Nixon.
Smith County Deed book I page 158 Feb. 8 1823 (reg. 1826) Edward (or Edmond)
Walker to Samuel Walker 400 HJickman Creek - mentions a conditional line
Robert Nixon and Wallker. Hickman Crkke - Gordonsville, Alexandria and
Liaberty Area. I have bet that this could be our Samuel living next door
to his wife's family.

Another letter in my file from Deborah Nixon puts some light on this. She
said that Robert Nixon married Charlotty Walker in 1815 and they were the
parents of ten children: Sinthey B. 1816: Samuel b. 1818, William b. 1821,
Ann b. 1824, robert b. 1826, Thomas b. 1828, James b. 1829, twins Livi and
Nepthly b. 1831, and Matha (called Patsy) b. 1834. She is the great
granddaughter of Robert b. 1826. She didnt know of another marriage for
Robert Nixon, but she said he was between 30-40 years old when he married
Charlotty Walker so our Mary Elizabeth is from an earlier marrige. It seems
that Robert served inthe war of 1812 and his widow and youngest child were
entitled to bounty land. Patsy was required to send proof of all the ages of
the children to prove that she was the only minor child. She sent the names
of all ten and then stated that there were no other children of Robert Nixon.
However, Mary Elizaabeth was nearly 30 years older than this pati. She had
corresponded with a Mr. Webb who is the county historian, and he speculated
that Charlotte was probably daughter of the Samuel 'Walker b 1760-70 and a
cousin of Mary's huband Samuel. So if Alexander is the father of our Samuel,
then he may have been the brother of the older Samuel(b1760-70). Haven't
time for more, Will try to feed you some more tomorrow or tonight. Katherine
