Notes for John George Ferguson:
Holly, here are some facts: Elmer Ira Ferguson b.1897 was the father of Elmer (Skeezix, or Skeez), John George (my dad), and Alan
Ferguson. Their mother was Steena Cornford b.1901. Steena and my grandfather divorced when the boys were small. After that, your grandfather Jess introduced Elmer to a woman named Rose Elo, whom he married before I was born. I only saw Steena once in my life, around 1961, in California. Steena's family were Mormons so we have a great deal of geneological information on that side of
our family, as you might guess. Steena's father was named George James Cornford. She had a brother named George Elwyn, who went by the name of Speed. Speed married Elmer Ira Ferguson's sister Iva (another child of John and Minnie H. Ferguson - remember them?), a second marriage for both of them. I always liked to go to Uncle Speed and Aunt Iva's house. They were real nice folks. The last time I saw them, they had moved up around Bakersfield, Ca. but both are gone now. They had an adopted daughter, Milderene. (John and
Minnie had a daughter named Mildred.) Skeezix has two sons, Danny and Wayne. Wayne lives in Arizona, last I knew, and I'm not sure where Danny lives. Skeez lives somewhere around Los Angeles, I think. I do not know his phone number - maybe Mike can get that for you. Alan has five kids. Alan lives in Seattle, and I think all his kids do too. My dad says that when I was real little, he used to take me to see my great-grandpa (John Alexander Ferguson) and he thought I was pretty special. He died before my third birthday, and Minnie
died before I was born, so I have no memories of them. My dad was named for both of his grandfathers. Hope that clears up the "Elmer
confusion."
