That's a start. I think there is a Montz family tree on the
website .....
There is also a small town near where my husband was raised called Montz. In all the years I lived in Calif. there was never a
Montz listed in the telephone book. I have not found them listed here in this area either. Mike is still trying to find something on John A. Ferguson's family. I think someone told me years ago that his father's name was ALeck Ferguson...but Mike says he can't find anything.
Hey, were you born in Calfiornia and raised there? Marilyn, Mike and I were born in Los Angeles, Calif. We were raised in
various towns. We lived in L.A., Culver City, and Torrence in L.A. county. In our high school days we lived in Orange County...the
towns of Tustin, Laguna Beach, Santa Ana, Garden Grove and Anaheim and Orange. My dad changed jobs a lot... My Mother was born and raised on a farm just outside of Westfield, Iowa. She is the only one in her family that lives outside of Iowa. Her family still farms. She met my Dad when he was stationed in Iowa during the second world war. Well, enough for now...if you need more info I shall send.
I enjoy talking with ya....Michele

My mother Stena Cornford was born in Idaho, my mothers brothers name was Cornford and was called Speed. She had another brother named Vaughn another brother Earl which could be a nickname. No one was born in England of that family.
One brother was killed and I think it was Vaughn was killed on the old grapevine highway in California. Vaughn had the truck that used to deliver Oranges to us during the depression which we had to sell by the bucket from door to door, I fell off that truck and they drove off dragging me along, I haven't been right since.
My mothers father could have come from England but I know for certain he worked for the Railroad, he had beautiful white hair. You could find out maybe from old Railroad records. I don't know my grandfathers name. My grandmother I remember ( Stena's mom) was a kind of a nut. She loved to dance and kept a house so filthy you could hardly walk in it and you know so was my mother and I am accused of being an incurable slob so I guess I come by it honestly.
My mothers Relatives I remember vaguely lived un Ukaipa, I stayed there sometime. You might want to check the records around the 1930's.
