John Wilson Askwith (b. WFT Est. 1850-1860, d. 1937)
John Wilson Askwith (son of Thomas Askwith) was born WFT Est. 1850-1860, and died 1937.
Notes for John Wilson Askwith:
I am not sure where to place my great grandparent in your list but I have a strong suspicion that he was the child of Thomas Askwith and Elizabeth Wilson and may not have been born in 1850 but in 1860 which would fit the picture more. I know he died in 1937, which would make him 77 which would fit my mother's description of him as being in his "late 70's" Strangely enough my male paternal and maternal ggparents were widowers in later life and both lived in the same house with the same housekeeper until they died. I really want to say that my ggrandmothers name was Sarah Wilson but I am still waiting for the confirmation of her name and the gggranmother's name.
I hope I am not making it more confusing. John M.
Sorry for the late responses but I am just now getting to my email. Regarding the picture, The adult man is Thomas Askwith with his wife, the babe in arms is my Grandfather, John Wilson. Marion, the eldest child, stands to their right, and Mable the smaller girl to their left, she is held around the waist by Thomas. Tom is the little boy in front. The picture, I date at 1889, Thomas Askwith was born around 1850, Marion was 81 when she died in 1959, Tom died as a young man in the 1930s. Mable was born around 1885 and died around 1965. Marion has a daughter who is still alive born 1907, named Gladys, I will send you a picture of her, (recent) and one of Mable with her two sons in about 1914. I am still waiting on confirmation of my Great Grandmothers name although one of them was Wilson.
