SEVENTH GENERATION

52. Selah Gridley Dennis + was born in 1819 in Fair Haven, Vt.in the County of Rutland est. 1781.. Hr was proprietor of both the Thorndike Hotel and the Commercial House. He moved from there to Boston where he lived for a few years. He then moved to Hallwell, Maine bcoming a proprietor of the Hallwell House. . After the war he returned to Boston and soon became European agent for the George Woods, Company organ manufacture, with his residence in London, England, where he was accompanied by his youngest son Augustus, and where he was later joined by his son Frank in 1876. He died in 1883.

He was married to Bethia Thorndike (daughter of Charles W. Thorndike and Eliza Keating) on Jul 19 1847. Bethia Thorndike was born on Jul 5 1829 in Rockland, Maine, in the County of Knox est. 1860. Selah Gridley Dennis + and Bethia Thorndike had the following children:
