Abt. 1826 he became an advocate of the temperance cause and circulated the 1st. Temperance Pledge in his neighborhood and assisted in forming the 1st Temperance Society. Also a early advocate of the antislavery cause. In later years he quit the Sea., and lived upon a farm in Wells; was one of the leading citizens of the town, and like many of his ancestors, was a deacon in the church for many years. He was married to Francis Littlefield on Aug 31 1809. Francis Littlefield died on Oct 16 1862. Theodore Wells and Francis Littlefield had the following children:
