6. Captain John Littlefield
was born on Nov 1 1624 in Titchfield, Hampshire, England. Lived in Moody,
Me. ( Batscom ) , charge of land owned by Henry & Ferdinando Gorges with
power of attorney, various deeds, Wills, & court cases. Constable 1661, signed
petition 1662 to court of Ma. died interstate, widow Patience administers, by
agreement estate was mutually divided. Do not confuse this John with John Littlefield
of Dedham, Ma. They are not the same person. Received a grant of land from George
Cleaves 1641 at mouth of mousam river where he lived. 1643 grant from Gorges.
Mill owner.
John was at Dedham in 1650 and afterwards in Wrentham
Owned almost all of what is now Ogunquit, Me.
